Can dogs eat raw meat?

Can dogs eat raw meat? In fact, this issue is very controversial in the pet circle. Some friends firmly believe that raw meat is suitable for dogs. The reason is simple: before humans tamed it, dogs had been feeding on raw meat for thousands of years. How could they not eat raw meat?

What these friends said is correct. However, eating raw meat still has certain hidden dangers. The reasons are as follows:

1. The meat quality is not up to standard. The meat quality of various raw meat in China is very difficult to pass: various water-infused meat, hormones, additives... This kind of meat is really a world of difference from the meat quality of fresh animals in nature.

2. The dog's physique becomes weak. Pet dogs, which have been domesticated for many years, have long been accustomed to human diet. Compared with their strong wild ancestors, their stomachs are a thousand miles apart, and they are probably no longer suitable for digesting raw meat. Just like us humans, we occasionally eat some raw or cold food, such as sashimi or raw beef, and we will have to take two days of stomach up, let alone dogs.

3. The most important reason: parasites. There may be parasites or parasitic eggs in raw meat. If these parasites or their eggs are not heated and cooked, they will stay alive, and then be eaten into the stomach by our dog baby, and then grow up in the dog's body. Isn't it scary?

Especially if your dog is used to eating raw meat, the chances of infecting these parasites will increase greatly. As we often say, Toxoplasma gondii, which can cause fetal malformations, is hidden in the raw meat of pigs, cows and sheep. There are also many parasites such as tapeworms, roundworms, hydrangea, trichinidia, etc., which are parasitized in muscles or internal organs, so not only raw meat cannot be eaten, but also raw internal organs cannot be eaten by dogs.

To summarize, in order to reduce the trouble, it is best not to give your dog raw meat! (Of course, if you are more at ease with the raw meat you buy, and your dog has a better stomach and intestines, it is OK to give your dog some raw meat to improve it occasionally.)
