The hematoma of the ear refers to a disease in which there are many causes of damage to the ear cartilage, which causes blood vessels to rupture and enter the skin and cartilage. Common causes include itching and irritation of the ear (acute and chronic inflammation, ear parasites, foreign bodies, allergies), etc.

Symptoms: A soft, liquid-filled swelling occurs in one or both ears, and the earplugs will fluctuate like a water balloon because it may be partially or completely swelled by the blood; the size of the swelling varies, and in some cases, the swelling can be so large that the opening of the ear canal is blocked; the extra weight of the earplug may be uncomfortable for the animal and may cause permanent changes in the shape of the ear; most animals will experience signs of itching (itting), such as head shaking and scratching of the ear.

Treatment:

small hematoma can heal itself.

The large hematoma should be coldly compressed and a compression bandage should be collected to prevent bleeding. It is not advisable to have premature surgery. The surgery can only be performed after several days of swelling or after the swelling does not increase significantly.

can also choose laser treatment, which is milder.

Prevent:

Prevent mechanical damage, avoid fighting with other dogs, and seek medical attention immediately if there is any damage.

Discuss dog's ears regularly for health checks.
