Before the friendly match against Palermo, Manchester City coach Guardiola talked about the team's injury situation in an interview. He said Foden had some ankle injury.

Guardiola said: "Fourden is in good shape, but he has a little injury to his ankle, so we are cautious to prevent it. Rodri is getting better, but he has been seriously injured against the Riyadh Crescent, which has been the same for the past five or six weeks."

"Now he is training, and the last two or three days have been better, and hope that international match day will really get back to health. I hope he can play for a few minutes before that, but it is important not to make him feel pain because we don't want him to keep getting hurt after he comes back. We will do our best to avoid this, and he has been training with us for the last two or three days, which is great."

When asked if Rodri will play against Wolves, Guardiola said: "I don't think Rodri will play 90 minutes. As for Foden, Hopefully, it depends on the situation. This week is long, I hope he can fully recover."

Regarding Kovasic's situation, Guardiola revealed: "We have three midfielders, Kovasic won't come back until September or October, and hopefully it can be earlier. Rodri was absent for a long time last season, but we have other players who can play that position, they are offensive midfielders, and they can appear more in the penalty area."

"Gundogan can play that position, and Reindez can do it, but I think that when everyone gets healthy, they have more opportunities to appear in a higher position, we have Foden and Serki, and we have a lot of offensive players. This season is good, I looked at the schedule, after September, every 3 days, so in the end we will need all the players."
