The Daily Mail reported that Leeds United player Matteo Joseph has officially applied to leave the team. The 21-year-old Spanish striker not only refused to participate in the team's pre-season training camp in Germany, but also actively promoted the transfer.

coach Daniel Falke confirmed to the media that despite three years left in the contract, Joseph insisted on returning to Spain to play football. Falk said: "Originally planned to let him come to Germany with the team. The situation is very clear. We attach great importance to him. Otherwise, the 20-year-old would not have given him 39 opportunities last season, and even beat Golden Boot winner Joel Piro and senior striker Bamford to become the first choice for the forward line. This fully reflects the club's trust in him."

"But he took the initiative to ask me for new challenges and tended to return to Spain. I respect this decision because we need players who really want to play for Leeds United. However, the club has invested a lot of resources for him. The existing contract has been long and the transfer quote has not met expectations. We asked him to train normally, but he has missed the Stockholm training camp and German friendly matches on the grounds that he is not ready. Although I suggest he maintain a professional attitude, I can't force the players to be there."
