Arsenal striker Trosad recently accepted an exclusive interview with the club's official website, sharing his persistence in victory, the integration of new teammates, the mentality of being born for the big scene, and the determination to win the championship for the team.
You have started the season with a hot start. How did you prepare for the new season?
Yes, my pre-season preparations are great. During the offseason, I also did a lot of personal training based on the fitness program provided by the club to stay in shape and prepare for the new season. Many of us also participated in training camps at Marbella, which allows you to get your fitness and rhythm back before the season officially begins. Preseason is an excellent opportunity to reserve physical fitness, get familiar with new teammates and enhance team cohesion. But I certainly look forward to the official start of the season, because that means real competition and game pace.
You are famous for your strong desire to win. Where does this competitive spirit come from?
I have always been like this. The goal is to win any game I play. Victory can inspire the best me, and of course, losing sometimes makes me feel bad! But I think it's a good trait because it always drives me to win with all my might. I have been used to playing football with my friends older than me since I was a child, and you have to be tough enough to prove yourself in front of them and gain a foothold.
Is this also passed on to your child?
(haha) Yes, especially my eldest son! He is a guy who can't afford to lose. He can tell at a glance that he always wants to win every game. I like him this. Of course, sometimes you have to discipline him because when he can't win, he may cheat with cleverness. But that's how the kids are! The
team introduced eight new players this summer. How do you think they are integrating?
The atmosphere in our team is very good, so we always try our best to welcome new players in the best way. I think if you ask them, they will tell you that it feels welcome here, and that's the positive side. I think all new players are a great addition to the team's strength, and they are all very good people.
One of the new players, Yorkress or your former teammate in Brighton?
Our intersection back then was very short. He had trained with us and had been on the big list several times, but there were not many intersections apart from that, so I didn't really know him at the time. But now we have been together for a while now, he is a very good person, very down-to-earth, and very quickly integrated. He has scored goals, which is great for all of us and we look forward to him having a better performance this season.
You always perform well against strong teams, why do you especially enjoy these major games?
As a player, playing this kind of game since childhood is the entire reason why you dream of becoming a professional player. All your efforts are for this moment. I don't know if it's because of excitement or the desire to prove myself. Maybe it’s a bit emotional, but this kind of competition... is hard to describe in words! I just love fighting strong teams. This may also be related to my competitive personality, and I want to prove that we can defeat any opponent. This may be a subconscious driving force. The team has been very close to the championship in recent seasons. What are the goals of this season?
We have been one step away from the championship trophy in the past few seasons, so I think it's time to hit the championship with all my might. We all have a desire for it, which is our primary goal, so let's fight for it to the end.
