Chelsea officially announced that it has signed its first professional contract with 17-year-old Lewi Richards.
Richards was a member of the U8 echelon when he joined Chelsea, and this season he became a member of Chelsea's U18 team. After his 17th birthday, he signed his first professional contract with the Blues.
Richards is a player with versatile attributes. After joining the Chelsea youth academy, he played as a midfielder and then transitioned to a full-back. Last season, he made his debut for Chelsea U18s. This season, he played in all U18 games and scored 3 goals. In addition, he made his debut for the Blues U19s in the UEFA Youth League against Ajax, helping the team win 6-3.
