The Daily Mail reported that Nottingham Forest assistant coach Rui Barbosa was too excited to celebrate the team's first goal of the season and had to sew six stitches after the game.

Nottingham Forest defeated Brentford 3-1 at home in the first round of the Premier League, starting the new season with a strong performance. Just five minutes into the opening game, Forest broke the deadlock, and forward Chris Wood grabbed the opponent's clearance in the penalty area and made a mistake in the clearance. The early goal triggered a crazy celebration of the coach's seat. Barbosa accidentally hit the awning during the celebration, causing a serious scratch to his head. The club's medical team quickly treated the wound.

Forest coach Nuno said after the game: "He had six stitches! The wound was deep and the situation was not good. He also had dizziness at that time."

Speaking of the team's performance, Nuno added: "I am very satisfied. The performance in the opening stage was perfect. We controlled the rhythm of the game and always took the initiative. The five-minute goal in the game stabilized the morale of the army and ignited the atmosphere of the court. Apart from the brief relaxation before the third goal, we almost didn't give Brentford any chance."
