As of about 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, the dollar has fallen nearly 7% against the Singapore dollar so far this year. The dollar index, which reflects the dollar against a basket of major currencies, was 96.693, falling by more than 10% in the past six months, hitting its lowest in the past four years.

The market's concerns about the weak US economy continued, prompting the dollar to bear selling pressure, and fell to 1.2704 against the Singapore dollar on Tuesday (July 1), the lowest point this year and a new low in nearly 10 years.

The US dollar fell to an all-time low of 1.20 in August 2011.
