Be highly vigilant, dogs have a 96% mortality rate in summer heat stroke!

Since the beginning of summer, I have been favored by the sun. I believe that all parts of the country have felt the enthusiasm from summer recently. Even we people cannot bear this scorching heat, let alone those dogs with their own "quilts".

Almost all dogs are afraid of heat, and are extremely prone to heatstroke in summer. Heat stroke is likely to be fatal to them. Be highly vigilant. Dogs have a 96% mortality rate in summer. As a shoveler, of course, they can't bear to watch their dogs suffer. So how should they correctly reduce heat to their dogs?

First of all, parents should be able to distinguish the symptoms of dogs in summer heatstroke.

Mixed heatstroke

Symptoms: drooling, asthma, restlessness, weak limbs

Moderate heatstroke

Symptoms: burning skin, difficulty breathing, and dullness.

Severe heatstroke

Symptoms: Unconsciousness, shock and coma.

What should parents do when facing dogs with symptoms of heatstroke?

If there is mild heatstroke, take the dog to a cool place or fan in the air-conditioned room and replenish hydration. The dog will be basically fine after resting for a while. If the dog has symptoms of moderate to severe heatstroke, it should first wet the pet's whole body with cold water, or wrap the whole body with a wet towel, or wipe it with alcohol to cool it down, and send it to the hospital immediately after emergency treatment. If the dog is in a coma, be sure to lower the pet's head and straighten the neck while you are sent to the hospital to keep your breathing unobstructed and prevent vomiting.

Of course, parents should also take complete measures to prevent heat stroke.

1. Avoid high temperatures walking the dog. 12 noon to 5 pm is the hottest time of the day in summer. Parents should try to avoid walking the dog during this period. In addition, long-term direct sunlight will make the ground hot, which is also a harm to dogs' soles that directly touch the ground.

2. Reduce the time for outdoor dog walking

For dogs, the same amount of exercise requires more physical energy in summer. Especially for elderly dogs and puppies, they are extremely prone to physical exhaustion and heatstroke, so they must reduce the time for walking their dogs outdoors and must not exercise without restraint.

3. Replenish water in time. Mild heatstroke symptoms are actually just because of lack of water. Once outdoor exercise, parents must pay attention to the timely replenishment of dog moisture. If the dog can drink water when it wants to drink it, it will greatly reduce the risk of heat stroke in the dog. But sometimes dogs forget to drink water because they are too excited to play. It is recommended that you prepare an outdoor drinking cup for your dog on high temperatures.

Here we also want to remind some "owners" who choose free-range farming. In summer, you must not tie your dog to a fixed outdoor column. Once there is no water source and you suffer from long-term sun exposure, the dog will easily die due to heatstroke and dehydration.
