On May 18, a video shared by actor Wu Lei went to the hot search list on Weibo. The pet dog "makes trouble" while he is not at home and smashes the potted plants. However, the puppy is good at "observing the face and color". When he saw his owner storming it with a popular culture, he immediately fled away with his tail. The interface was both bitter and funny. Do you understand how puppies inexplicably "make trouble"?
Perfect phenomenon of pet dogs anxiety Personal behavior
Many people think that pet dogs' mental health problems are related to species, and this is not the case. On March 12 this year, Hannes Lohi, an expert professor from the University of Helsinki, Germany, and his friends published a scientific study on the mental health problems of pet dogs in the "Scientific Report". The data showed that dogs' anxiety and personal behavioral problems related to fear will be widely present in different categories.
Based on the questionnaire for pet dog owners, the scientific research staff scientifically studied the anxiety characteristics of more than 13,700 German pet dogs of 264 species, including noise sensitivity, fear of other dogs, passers-by or new situations, fear of special floor plans and aspect ratios, inattention and desire, compulsive behavior, anxiety and aggressive behavior of young children entering kindergarten. The study found that 72.5% of pet dogs have at least one personal behavior that has serious problems, and many pet dogs also suffer from multiple problems.
Responsive to noise is the most common anxiety characteristic of pet dogs. 32% of pet dogs are worried about at least one noise, and 26% of pet dogs are especially worried about the sound of firecrackers. Fear is also a common anxiety characteristic. 29% of pet dogs will mainly show fear, including fear of other dogs (17%), fear of passers-by (15%) and fear of new areas (11%).
Scientific research data show that pet dogs' sensitivity to noise (especially fear of thunder) will increase with their age. Their fear of special floor plans and aspect ratios is the same, such as the worry of walking around on stainless steel wire mesh or smooth road surfaces. Expert Professor Hannes Loch said: "We have seen some differences, such as male dogs are more likely to show aggressiveness, while female dogs are more likely to feel worried." There are also differences in the main performance of pet dogs of different ages: for example, high noise sensitivity is more common in elderly dogs, and personal destruction caused by inability to integrate into the home alone (classified as separation of restlessness problems) is more common in young dogs.
Scientific research staff emphasized that the genetic genes and living environment of pet dogs are very harmful to their personal behavior methods. Therefore, in order to improve the mental health of pet dogs, zoo keepers or owners must have good interactions with pet dogs and carry out proactive training and learning tutoring for them without being forced.
Puppies also have a rebellious period of youth
In addition, in addition to caring about the mental health of pet dogs, what professional knowledge should they master? On May 14 this year, a scientific research published by Dr. Lucy Asher of Newcastle University on BiologicalLetters showed that pet dogs will experience personal behavior during their growth stages of youth rebellion.
Dr. Lucy Arthur colleagues conducted scientific research on Labradors, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds and this species of mixed seed descendants (285 in total), and found that the puberty of pet dogs occurred around 8 months. At this stage, pet dogs are more likely to ignore their owner's orders and are more difficult to train.
The owner of the pet dog and the dog trainer who is not familiar with the pet dog each completed a questionnaire about "trainable degree". They must score the descriptions in this questionnaire, such as "refusing to fulfill the order it has learned long ago", "responding to the recruitment order immediately without a rope tied up", etc.
The survey results show that compared with the pre-puberty development period (5 months) and after puberty development period (12 months), the owner gave the "trainable degree" of pet dogs during the puberty development period (8 months), while the dog trainer gave the "trainable degree" of pet dogs of 5-8 months higher than that of the owner.
Dr. Naomi Harvey, a mutual creator of the scientific research, stated that "the personal behavioral transformation of pet dogs during adolescence is very similar to parent-child communication, because the personal behavioral differences between pet dogs and their owners are only for key caregivers."
