Stop China from leaving behind, the United States will promote chip GPS positioning monitoring again

To avoid China's chip smuggling, the US government is currently exploring the addition of location tracking function of AI chips to prevent sensitive semiconductor products from illegally flowing into China.

AI is now a new battleground for competition among countries, especially the United States and China, and both regard it as the key code for future technological and economic guidance. Whoever has the most advanced AI technology and who can win this new competition. In order to avoid China's rapid rise in this field, in addition to restricting the export of some AI hardware software to China, the United States has been more proactive in finding new monitoring methods recently.

Earlier, the US trans-party members have sent members to propose the "Diagram Security Act" to track the location of chips, prevent smuggling and strengthen export controls, which is supported by Bill Huizenga of Michigan and Bill Foster of Illinois. This time, the feasibility of this plan is discussed again, indicating that the United States has officially included technical monitoring in the strategic consideration of the game with China.

It is worth noting that the US strategy is not just a single tightening, but adopts a flexible approach to "smoothing and doing". On the one hand, the United States has actively prevented China from blocking its core chips through technical supervision and export controls; on the other hand, in specific strategic debates, the United States is willing to appropriately place export restrictions on some products, thereby maintaining the judgment code and ensuring the stable supply of its own strategic resources.

Recently, Trump administration officials said that the US-China trade agreement lifted restrictions on exporting NVIDIA H20 chips to China to replace China's rare earth exports to the United States. However, Hong Kong media reports that H20 chips may be built-in "back doors" to attract security from all walks of life. NVIDIA denies that there is no back door on the wafer.

In the future, the United States will become more and more irresistible in China's AI regulation policy, and the only thing that can be confirmed is that in order to ensure the leading position of AI, the United States will definitely avoid the outflow of advanced technologies. If China wants to obtain advanced chips, it has to take out substantial benefits and exchange them.
