A normal body shape, seedlings and BMI do not mean health! This value is the key

Often people are familiar with the BMI index, that is, the body mass index. The calculation formula of the BMI index is divided by the weight (kg) by the square of height (meter). This index is also a simple way to evaluate whether there is a healthy weight.

According to the recommendations of the Ministry of Welfare, the BMI index for adults should be maintained between 18.5 (kg/m2) and 24 (kg/m2). Below 18.5 is too heavy, and above 24 is too heavy. If the BMI index exceeds 30, it is considered moderate obesity.

However, studies have shown that people with normal BMI index and look like a skinny body may not be healthy, and internal fat may be more important. According to the BBC Chinese website, people with external seedlings may accumulate a large amount of internal fat in their bodies, which usually accumulate around the heart, liver and pancreas, and too much internal fat can increase the risk of heart disease, hypertension and diabetes.

Researchers pointed out that some people with normal BMI index may have too high internal fat, while some people with relatively high BMI index may also be healthy.

If you want to know whether you have too much internal fat, you need a professional medical instrument to check it, but there is a simple measurement method to refer to: use a snail to measure it from the foot and to the top, and then fold the snail to measure the waist. If the waist is smaller than the folded squid, it is normal, but the folded squid cannot cover the waist, it means that the inner fat is too high.

The doctor suggested that no matter what the BMI index is, the waist should be kept normal. It is best for men to not exceed 37 inches (about 94 cm) and for women to not exceed 31.5 inches (about 80 cm).

There is a good news that when people start to lose weight, the first thing they lose is internal fat, and as long as they lose weight by 5% of the body weight, they can effectively reduce internal fat.
